Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Staged by NOWADAYS

Supported by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, new show formats and productions will set the tone for the supporting programme of MBFW at Kraftwerk Berlin

From 18th to 20th January, German fashion designers and internationally renowned up- and-coming talents will come together under one roof at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to create an impressive showcase for fashion. This is the first MBFW that will be held digitally.

Supported by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, new show formats and productions will set the tone for the supporting programme of MBFW at Kraftwerk Berlin and mark the start of a fashion week characterised by innovation, sustainability and digitalisation with the aim of repositioning Berlin as a location for German and sustainable fashion concepts. In individually staged sets and locations - presented by Mercedes-Benz - the Belgian designer and winner of the „Grand Prix du Jury Première Vision“ of the 35th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories in Hyères Tom Van Der Borght will open the MBFW. On Tuesday and Wednesday the presentations of the autumn winter 2021 collections of the fashion labels Lana Müller, Danny Reinke, Marc Cain, Rebekka Ruétz, Kilian Kerner and Eli by Elias Rumelis will follow.

Under the title TRANSIT, selected designer collaborations of different disciplines from fashion, performance and design come together in a live production.

As one of the most important industry events, DER BERLINER SALON returns to Fashion Week on 18th January with its renowned group exhibition of over 35 German design labels from the disciplines of fashion, jewellery and accessories. In addition to the curated presentation, the BERLINER SALON‘s supporting programme expands to include digital discussion formats BERLINER SALON TALKS and DESIGNER DIALOGUES with designers, German fashion experts and local creative talents.

Fashion Revolution’s showcasing initiative Fashion Open Studio presents itself for the first time as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with an interactive and digital supporting programme on 19th and 20th January. Supported by the Senate Depart- ment for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, this format heralds the trans- formation process of a holistically sustainable Fashion Week and invites you to FASHION OPEN STUDIO x MBFW Innovative Design - Fashion Presentation, studio tours OPEN STUDIOs BERLIN, the 20 Designers in 20 Minutes - STATIC EXHIBITION and TALKS.

Supported by the organiser NOWADAYS and the partner Mercedes-Benz, the Berlin Fashion Film Festival will take place surrounded by the industrial charm of the Kraftwerk Berlin. The programme includes film screenings from the worlds of fashion, film and lifestyle.
