National and international buyers, media representatives, influencers and fashion enthusiasts meet twice a year at Berlin Fashion Week to be inspired by current trends and to establish business contacts. The upcoming Berlin Fashion Week will take place from JJuly 10th to 15th, 2023. In January 2023, the Berlin Fashion Week presented both established and new formats. In the concept competition, the most innovative and forward-looking formats and designers were selected by expert juries.

Interested parties could apply in the categories “Berlin Contemporary” (fashion shows by Berlin, German and Ukrainian designers), “BFW Multiplikatorformate” (larger events) and Studio2Retail (studio and store concepts).

The competition was started by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Business and carried out by the Fashion Council Germany. The formats and fashion shows are funded with around 1.5 million euros by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises.
