David Koma

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Titled “I Love David”, the Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection draws its name and its spirit from a playful triad of Davids: cultural icon David Beckham, Michelangelo’s sculptural masterpiece David, and designer David Koma himself. At its core, the collection is an exploration of ego, identity, and masculinity. Through the lens of three Davids, each emblematic of a different facet of male image-making, it examines how persona and self-reflection shape modern manhood. From Beckham’s early-2000s style emerge light-rinse distressed denim, aged brown leather trench coats, and a tongue-in-cheek appliqué T-shirt reading “I LOVE DAVID” - a direct homage to his iconic “I KISS FOOTBALL” jersey. Michelangelo’s David inspirations are seen in graphic prints and “souvenir” aprons reimagined in lace crochet. Romanticism of classic sculpture is further channeled through draped t-shirts. From Koma’s own wardrobe and signature we see statement outerwear, garter details on tailored trousers and denim, and intricate hand embroidered hibiscus brooches that nod to his personal travels. While this year marks David Koma’s 15th anniversary as a brand, ”I Love David” is only his third menswear collection, making it a fresh chapter in an evolving narrative. The collection further refines the identity of the Koma man: a character of contrasts, who balances ornate with the everyday, and embraces bold expression without losing touch with sophistication.

What non-fashion related sources or experiences have influenced your current collection?
My menswear collections are a deeply personal exploration of menswear identity. Away from the fashion influence, it is ultimately shaped by the close-knit community surrounding my menswear line. It is ‘flecks’ of each collaborator’s attitudes and sensibilities that become seamlessly woven into a refined and intimate offering, infusing the collection with a quiet harmony. Furthermore, for AW25 season I was inspired by my passion for the sport and specifically Rugby, which is a very popular sport both in my native Georgia and my adoptive home in the UK. Rugby motifs were visible in chunky knits, woven badges - a signature of rugby jerseys, and stadium scarves that were subverted and reimagined to create this seasonal offering.
