Laura Gerte

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Laura Gerte’s Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection, “Looped & Bound”, is inspired by Donna Haraway's 1985 essay A Cyborg Manifesto and the 1995 anime Ghost in the Shell. Both works explore the fusion of humans and machines, questioning fundamental concepts of identity, gender, and technology. The collection examines the dissolution of these boundaries, expressed through contrasting volumes and materials: precise cuts and feminine, playful elements meet expansive, bulging forms, while robust outerwear is juxtaposed with daring, almost fragile pieces. The silhouettes explore both revelation and concealment, drawing inspiration from fashion archetypes such as the uniformity of business suits, the sensuality of lingerie, and the practicality of functional garments. Each look is crafted from upcycled fabrics, including suit jackets, vintage T-shirts, smocked silk scarves, deadstock nylons, and even pieces constructed from discarded cables. Laura Gerte’s signature piping serves as a finishing touch, creating unique volumes and shapes.
