Melisa Minca

About the Collection

For her latest collection, Melisa Minca introduces “(R)EVOLUTION IRRESISTIBLE”. Inspired by Adrienne Maree Brown’s book Pleasure Activism, “(R)EVOLUTIONIRRESISTIBLE” explores how embracing pleasure and joy can be a radical act in the

fight for social justice. The designer’s own personal journey as a fashion-activist has led her to believe in fashion’s ability to capture attention and present revolutionary ideas and inspire individuals in ways that are tangible and relatable. As sustainability is central to Melsia Minca’s work, this collection features vintage textiles as well as discarded materials and garments, reclaimed and reworked into designer pieces such as tailored suits or vintage corsets with modern twists. In terms of materials, we see a lot of vintage silk and upcycled and dyed crochet. Sharp tailoring is combined with fluid and unconventional shapes like dramatic asymmetry, resulting in a balance of clean and sharp lines and playful deconstruction. Melisa Minca wants this collection to be not only about the reclaiming of clothing, but also the reclamation of one's body and power.
