Orange Culture

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Nigerian brand Orange Culture presented its latest collection “In the Shadow”, exploring the complexities of mental health. Designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal drew inspiration from the silent struggles many people carry, especially in communities where mental health is still heavily stigmatized. The collection is also an emotional nod to Nigerian societal pressures where people often equate perfection with value, and the beauty of breaking that illusion. The brand worked with a mix of materials including Regenesis fabrics, handwoven aso-oke, cottons, wool. The palette is vibrant and expressive to reflect the emotional spectrum. In terms of silhouettes, simple foundations are reimagined the Orange Culture way, infusing them with a childlike playfulness, quirk, and the brand’s signature androgynous spirit. Highlights include the print pieces, hand-beaded looks and reworked classic silhouettes.

ABOUT THE BRAND
Orange Culture is more than just a label – it’s an emotional tapestry of socially conscious stories and forms of expression, translated into wearable clothing. We believe that fashion can – and should – change lives, even save them. The brand sees itself as a movement, reimagining universal silhouettes through an African lens for a creative, progressive community. The result is a heady mix of Nigerian-inspired prints, bold colors, and contemporary, androgynous fashion. At our core, we believe that clothing is fluid – it should be for everyone and anyone.
