The collective sustainability reality check for the fashion industry

At 'DIVERSE IT! - a trialogue in fashion', five selected Berlin designers meet five talents to create together their vision of a diverse look. 

The creative process between designers and talent in the search for diversity in fashion will be reflected in a streaming at the start of the event.

At SEEK it's all about quality, relevance, sustainability, and having a good time together in Berlin. SEEK is the stage for modern brands and makers from sportswear, streetwear, craftsmanship, and new classics with a strong focus on sustainability.

On the occasion of Berlin Fashion Week, DER BERLINER SALON will take place on January 16-18, 2023. Kicking off the Berlin Fashion Week, DER BERLINER SALON presents sustainable and quality-conscious labels in the fields of fashion and design. Since 2015, the heart of DER BERLINER SALON has been the group exhibition of local and national designers and manufacturers, presenting an exceptionally curated selection of the most relevant creative talents and brands in Germany to industry experts as well as visitors and those interested from the creative scene, business, press, buying and media. DER BERLINER SALON is again being funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises.

With the immersive metaverse showcase "HOOKED" VORN - The Berlin Fashion Hub presents the result of the first VORN Academy Program. The showcase was conceived and realized by the nine participating designers of the Academy. A phygital, three-part Capsule Collection will be presented. In addition to the physical looks, visitors will also experience a VR experience: they will enter a Metaverse gallery in Spatial using VR glasses and take a look behind the scenes, experiencing the sophisticated concept immersively. The phygital exhibition will premiere on January 18, 2023 at Berlin Fashion Week in the former LNFA store at Bikini Berlin and is open to interested parties free of charge until January 20.

GALLERY MALINA presents the sustainable knitwear label lotre at Berlin Fashion Week. The name „lotre“ borrows from the French word „l’autre“ which translates as „the other one“. What is different is the way lotre is produced: The innovative and sustainable concept for knitwear production avoids the generation of waste and overproduction, while all lotre products are entirely knitted and assembled in Berlin. From 19.1. - 20.1.23 lotre presents the new clothes. Meet&greet the designer Luisa Lauber in person and learn more about the sustainable concept. All guests are welcomed with a champagne reception and goody bag with sustainable items. A joint project of different partners unlocking immersive possibilities and experiences of digital fashion, Marketplace, NFT Gallery, fashion shows and a conference area. «Vesnianka» is a visual tale about hopes for tomorrow, and fears and choices to be made: a documented metaphorical transition, the collection praises a fearless step towards the new dawn, the new spring, a new world.

With his latest work, Meyer-Leclère reflects on meditation, concentration and contemplation by creating new contemporary classics.

The collection is inspired by the Song of Ascent in the bible "Nisi Dominus" that is attributed to the prophet Solomon and its musical interpretation by Vivaldi. "Cum Dederit" is the fourth movement of the composition, which is characterized by a slow, contemplative style. Meyer-Leclère drew significant inspiration for his collection from the chromatically ascending lines and slow, expressive style of the composition.
