No other city polarises quite like Berlin does. Many people are quite exasperated by it – especially in Germany. What’s that all about? Berlin is young and young at heart. A sanctuary for people who want to live freely. Although all major cities offer freedom, Berlin is still a city for explorers. A city that never seems to be finished. Dynamic, always in motion. Hyperactive yet wistful. And all this is reflected in the fashion Berliners wear. Today perhaps an elegant evening gown with high heels, tomorrow sweats and sneakers. Today beard and beanie, tomorrow buzzcut and business outfit. Fashion as a liberal playground and expression of individuality may not be a new trend, but still something we should never forget.
