MBFW International Edition No. 1 - Contributions from Madrid and Moscow at MBFW in Berlin
The Spring/Summer 2022 season in Berlin heralds a new form of collaboration between the MBFW- platforms. The new format MBFW International Edition focuses on deepening the exchange between the individual venues of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and thus strengthening the visibility of designers on a global level. The overarching goal is to offer talents from all over the world a platform and network at the same time.
Creating synergies across national borders and promoting the internationality of the events takes on an important role this year and underlines the new concept of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week organizers.
The MBFW International Edition kicks off with the Spanish label Otrura and the Russian label NASTYA NEKRASOVA, who usually show their collections at MBFW Madrid and MBFW Russia, respectively. Now, for the first time, they are also showing digitally at MBFW in Berlin.
"The city of Berlin and MBFW Berlin are known as a hub for emerging talents and a reference point for the national and international creative scene. The approach of showing contributions from international designers at our event has always existed. We are now intensifying this by directly networking the individual MBFW platforms and presenting contributions from their designers to us, and correspondingly contributions from us to the partner. We are already looking forward to these and subsequent contributions from other designers at MBFW Berlin. These will initially be broadcast digitally, and in the future will be followed by presentations directly on site." Marcus Kurz, Managing Director NOWADAYS
The cinematic contribution of the Russian label will be shown on Tuesday at 8pm and the exclusive contribution of the Spanish label on Wednesday at 8pm on mbfw.berlin.
Graduate Fashion at MBFW Berlin
The fact that Berlin is a showcase for creative young design talents is also underlined by the Neo.Fashion. Best Graduates`s Show and Award. At the event, which will take place on September 8 at Kraftwerk, the collections of students from 13 universities will be shown. Afterwards, a top-class jury will present awards in the categories "Best Design", "Best Sustainability Concept" and "Best Craftmanship" for their work. The Neo Fashion Best Graduates Show takes place with the kind support of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Labor.
Hair and Beauty Partner
The official partner of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as beauty parner is La Biosthétique.
"We are delighted to once again be the Beauty Partner of MBFW. For me as Creative Director, the most beautiful part of Fashion Week is creating hair looks that perfectly complement the designers' collections and visions. For our international team of stylists, Fashion Week is a creative change from the daily salon routine. Especially after our Corona-related Fashion Week break, I'm even more excited to work as part of the team and style the numerous looks together." Alexander Dinter, International Creative Director Hair at La Biosthétique
