Press Release
Berlin Fashion Week heralds the festival autumn
- Sustainability, digitalisation and the promotion of young talent are the focal points of Berlin Fashion Week.
- Comprehensive programme from 6 - 12 September, for the first time again in live formats as well as hybrid and purely digital events.
- Highlight: fashion week and art fair overlap and promise international trade visitors and consumers a whole series of special cross-culture events.
- The state of Berlin is supporting the reorientation of Berlin Fashion Week with 3.0 million euros in 2021.
Starting on 6 September, the entire metropolis will be swept up in fashion fever with around ten large main events and numerous smaller events and the radiance of the local scene will be promoted. Sustainability, digitalisation, cross culture, circular economy and the support of young creative talents dominate the concepts of this season, which will be extensively promoted by the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Industry.
Ramona Pop, Senator for Economic Affairs and Energy: "Fashion is a statement and an economic factor for Berlin. That's why we promote fashion in the capital through a comprehensive package of measures; no other federal state has a comparable set of funding instruments. Our goal is to get as many companies and creative professionals as possible through the crisis. I am very pleased to get to know the diverse and creative ideas of the organisers of Berlin Fashion Week."
The merging formats Berlin Fashion Week and Berlin Art Week with the art fair POSITIONS merge into over 14 days full of event highlights.
