FASHIONSUSTAIN: New conference during Berlin Fashion Week
The fashion and textile industry is currently developing a fundamental transformation process. Technological progress and the simultaneous strategic implementation of sustainability issues demonstrate a new understanding of innovation and drive a change process that benefits all stakeholders.
The fact that Premium Group and Messe Frankfurt want to cooperate more closely with each other in 2018 was already known in the late summer of 2017. Now, both trade fair organizers are also establishing a hotspot on the subject of sustainable technologies and innovations in fashion.
Under the name "FASHIONSUSTAIN Berlin", the conference will take place during Berlin Fashion Week, on January 17, 2018, at Kraftwerk Berlin. FASHIONSUSTAIN addresses itself to the professionals of the fashion industry as well as to a transdisciplinary professional audience and asks to face a critical discourse about the future of the fashion industry, so the organizers say.
The central theme of the conference is: "The Increasing Importance of the Circular Economy". Brands, developers, innovators, manufacturers, and researchers demonstrate and discuss how sustainable fashion techniques change the areas of athleisure, outdoor, sports, and apparel. Industry experts give visitors insights into the latest developments and future practices.
The Keynote speakers include well-known environmental activist Alexandra Cousteau (Good Impact Foundation) and renowned trend researcher Ellen Karp. Under the motto "Run for Circularity", the conference intends to take a holistic look at current developments and the potential of the latest innovative technologies and digitization trends.
