Interview with Showslot Winner Lou de Bètoly

Some decadence, sophistication, rococo and a lot of details….

There is not a real story. We just wanted to find a way to make the place, which was very beautiful, more playful. I don’t think you have to give clear messages to the people. I think it’s also nice if people have to think for themselves if there is a message or not.

Last time, we really wanted to have a mix of interesting faces and characters. Our aim was to find faces who represent the typical Lou de Bètoly woman. The last casting was fun because of the wide range of ages. Some people told me they found it unusual to see an older woman dressed in transparent clothes or with short skirts. To be honest, I didn’t think was that provocative, but it’s true that it’s not something you see on a daily basis.

I think it’s both. I think my work is very personal. But of course, there are a lot of hidden messages. However, I’m not a politician and don’t need to write everything down for my next campaign.

It's a pleasure to prepare a show and present my collection. This is what my focus is on at the moment.

To be honest, I try not to plan too much because I simply can’t. Until now, I really just took everything step by step. Of course, it can be stressful but I accept the challenges.
