Fashion Council Germany, in partnership with Vogue Business and eBay Germany, brought the fashion industry together for the talk format ‘METAMORPHOSIS’

Berlin, 11. July 2024: As part of Berlin Fashion Week in July 2024, Fashion Council Germany successfully implemented its new talk format "METAMORPHOSIS - dialogues about change" powered by eBay in partnership with Vogue Business. More than 250 participants and over 30 international speakers from the fashion industry gathered in the CUPRA City Garage to discuss the topic of Circularity. Industry experts, press representatives as well as young professionals and interested parties from the fashion industry were able to take part. The aim of the talk format is to stimulate exchange, to highlight the different facets and necessary changes in the industry and allow for discussion. New legislation and human rights were discussed, as well as innovative approaches to retailing and consumer expectations of brand communication.

The first day focused on Design, highlighting sustainable approaches in fashion and measures to protect human and labour rights in the supply chain. On the second day Michele Casucci, CEO of technology start-up Certilogo, gave exciting insights into the possibilities of the digital product passport, which makes a product’s supply chain visible and can act as a catalyst for change. The overarching trend of augmented reality and artificial intelligence dominated the day's panels, highlighting the opportunities and challenges of technology for the fashion industry. On the final day, sessions on Community explored how CSR communication and storytelling can be used by brands to communicate authentically with consumers, or how the international network of the global fashion industry is a multiplier for creativity and inclusion.

Scott Lipinski, CEO of FCG, and Kirsty Keoghan, Global General Manager Fashion at eBay, closed the event with an outlook on the possibilities of a sustainable fashion industry.

Panellists included Ann Claes, who acted as Content Director, as well as Dilys Williams (Centre for Sustainable Fashion), Dries Vriesacker (ENFNTS TERRIBLES), Herbert Hofmann (Highsnobiety), Janina Lin Otto (Holistic Foundation), Kerstin Weng (VOGUE Germany), Kirsty McGregor (Vogue Business), Liz Ricketts (The Or Foundation), Maliha Shoaib (Vogue Business), Harald Sipple (Reserve-Retail) and Nina Knaudt (Rianna + Nina).

On the evening of the talk days, the exchange between the speakers continued over dinner in the intimate atmosphere of JOSEPH and Anna & Paul restaurants. In the inviting and modern atmosphere of the CUPRA CITY Garage, which opened in 2022, visitors were able to enjoy a culinary offering from Gragger Brot, Vöslauer Mineralwasser, Elephant Bay and 1664 Blanc.

For those who were unable to watch the panels live, they are now available on Demand on the FCG website HERE.
