The Berlin Fashion Week is a seasonal celebration of fashion. This season the celebration extends again beyond the runway to various exciting side events, including the pop-up stores and shops of the six Studio2Retail winners.

Initiated in 2021 by the Fashion Council Germany and the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy, and Public Enterprises, the Studio2Retail competition awards the most creative, innovative, and sustainable store concepts with a prize. The goal of Studio2Retail is to invigorate retail. Hence, the initiative is not just for industry professionals but invites all fashion enthusiasts to participate in Berlin Fashion Week.

These are the six Studio2Retail winners:

The Lissome

Since 2016, The Lissome has been dedicated to sustainable fashion. As an award-winning mix of online magazine and platform, it explores the intersections of slow fashion, mindfulness, ecology, and system transformation through empathetic storytelling.

During Berlin Fashion Week, under the title “The Lissome Presents: Slow Style Chronicle,” founder Dörte de Jesus and her team bring their sustainable brand guide “The Book of Kin” to life. Selected German and international brands, such as AVENIR, will showcase their designs. Additionally, there will be a panel talk titled “From Soil to Story: Blueprints for Sustainable Fashion, Paving the Way with Creativity, Conscious-Making, and Networks of Care,” featuring speakers like Dr. Mila Burcikova from the Centre for Sustainable Fashion at the London College of Fashion.
