The jury behind the BFW concept competition
The Berlin Fashion Week Concept Competition enters a new round, accompanied by a new jury that will discover and reward Berlin's creative potential. In collaboration with the Senate Departement for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, as well as the Fashion Council Germany, an exciting forum has been created to support talented designers and innovative concepts. The competition, initiated on behalf of SenWEB and the FCG, consists of two categories: BERLIN CONTEMPORARY (fashion presentations and shows) and STUDIO2RETAIL (B2C focused activations). The aim of both initiatives is to strengthen Berlin's international relevance as a fashion hub and to provide a platform for design talents and their collections. Here, we introduce the newly formed jury.
Berlin Contemporary
Throughout the BFW competition, promising designers and fashion labels, especially from Berlin and Germany, will be recognized for their outstanding achievements during the Berlin Fashion Week in July 2024. The prize money will be awarded to those presenting creative and sustainable fashion presentation concepts that will showcase their collections as part of Berlin Contemporary.
The top 16 concepts of submitted by applicants from Berlin and Germany will have the opportunity to win a prize of €25,000 each. Additionally, two prizes of €25,000 each can be awarded to participants from Ukraine. Following experienced jury members will carefully select the winning concepts to honor the most innovative and impressive contributions:

STUDIO2RETAIL
The upcoming season of Berlin Fashion Week promises an abundance of innovation and creativity, supported by the Senate Departement for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises. Prize money is provided to promote concepts of brick-and-mortar retail, events, and designers based in Germany, especially those from Berlin.
The prize money rewards outstanding creative and sustainable B2C event concepts that highlight key themes such as sustainability, inclusion, education, and community. The six most convincing concepts will each receive €5,000 in support, selected by a jury of industry experts.
Thanks to STUDIO2RETAIL, Berlin Fashion Week becomes accessible to everyone, whether they are involved in the fashion industry or simply have a passion for fashion. A network of studios, pop-ups, and stores opens its doors during Fashion Week and offers specials. An event calendar lists all events in which fashion enthusiasts without a professional background can participate, including the award-winning concepts from the competition.
