HIGHLIGHTS 2/7 BFW SS26

With the official BFW Opening Dinner at Grill Royal, Berlin Fashion Week successfully kicked off on Monday evening. Invited by Franziska Giffey, Mayor and Senator for Economic Affairs, as well as the Fashion Council Germany, over 200 guests from the worlds of fashion, politics, media, and culture came together to celebrate the start of the Spring/Summer 2026 season.

WILLIAM FAN invited guests to the Pop-Up Opening at Château Royal and presented his SS26 collection "POSTCARD" - a homage to past holiday moments and personal memories. The collection features lightweight materials, pastel tones, and new silhouettes, for the first time without the use of virgin wool. Sporty-inspired accessories and exclusive postcards complement the concept. "POSTCARD" stands for a conscious approach to materiality and the telling of individual summer stories.

The opening of the MAXIMILIAN GEDRA studio was a celebration of fashion, art, and music, where iconic pieces, including a design worn by Lady Gaga, were showcased alongside drinks, a live DJ, and a vibrant gathering of creatives from the industry.

On the second day of Berlin Fashion Week, Milk of Lime opened the show at the FÜRST venue as part of the Newest format. Under the title "CHIME," the collection explored coming of age in rural areas and paid tribute to rural-poetic punk - the brand's central figure. In keeping with the bell-like sound of the show, many looks featured small silver bells, adorning tops, belts, and bags. The collection also included delicate layering with sheer fabrics, flowing silhouettes, vintage-inspired floral prints, safety pins on T-shirts, and braided details that were echoed in the models' hairstyles.
The re- or pre-sees of selected collections will once again take place this season from July 1 to July 3 at Hotel Château Royal. Registration in advance is requested via showroom@fashion-council-germany.org. The following brands are presenting their collections:
July 1: Andrej Gronau, Gerrit Jacob, Ioannes, Kitschy Couture, Laura Gerte
July 2: Buzigahill, MARKE, Milk of Lime, PALMWINE IceCREAM, Richert Beil, Sia Arnika
July 3: Balletshofer, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, LUEDER, SF1OG

With Raum.Berlin, the Fashion Council Germany and eBay are launching a progressive exhibition format that is open, accessible, and designed for exchange. From July 1 to 3, Kranzler X will transform daily as designers such as Avenir, Jisoo Baik, and Kasia Kucharska present their collections beyond the traditional runway. A mix of show and installation, featuring nine labels that stand out for strong design perspectives, sustainable ambitions, and a distinctive creative signature. Together, they represent a new, more conscious approach within the fashion industry. The concept is complemented by eBay's pre-loved exhibition, where curated looks made up of second-hand designer pieces purchased on the platform are brought to life. The afternoons are open for personal exchange. Accreditation is possible HERE.

Rebekka Ruétz's new collection is conceived as a journey to a wild and free self that is unafraid of imperfection. For the designer, it is about taking a step into freedom, experiencing life in its purest form - authentic, vulnerable, and strong at the same time.

The new collection by PALMWINE IceCREAM is a tribute to the women in designer Kusi Kubi's personal life - and fittingly places womenswear at its center. Made from deadstock cotton, organza, mesh, and upcycled leather naturally dyed with tree bark, the expressive pieces were created in collaboration with Ghanaian artisans. Highlights include a ballerina-style corset, leather blazers and shorts, as well as hand-painted leather bags.
