“Berlin Curated”: The New Platform for Promoting Emerging Fashion Talents in Germany

Sustainable support for emerging talent is one of the most important priorities in the German fashion industry, especially within the framework of Berlin Fashion Week. For the upcoming edition of Fashion Week in June/July 2025, the new concept “Berlin Curated” will launch with exactly this purpose as its main goal.
Specifically, this newly launched and innovative format offers talented students and alumni from across Germany a professional platform and international stage to present their work. The initiative includes a comprehensive range of opportunities, such as the Berlin Curated Runway Show – a curated fashion show that highlights outstanding emerging designers and showcases their work through a professional show production. Berlin Curated Networking gives participants the valuable opportunity to connect with stakeholders, press representatives, and influential industry figures at an exclusive event. At the Berlin Curated Showroom & Pop-Up, hosted by the organization PLATTE.Berlin e.V., the selected designs will be presented to both industry professionals and consumers. Last but not least, Berlin Curated Awareness, in cooperation with university magazines XIER and Hotline (Akademie für Mode & Design), ensures that the talents are featured in relevant publications.
The project’s artistic direction is led by Christiane Arp, who brings her extensive experience as the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Germany, chairwoman and founding member of the Fashion Council Germany, and curator of Der Berliner Salon. Together with creative consultant Sonja Hodzode and stylist Josepha Rodriguez, she oversees the curation, styling, and casting of the runway show.
Berlin Curated is not just a one-time initiative but a recurring and future-oriented platform. The support program will assist and promote creative young designers once a year. Each show will give 10 to 12 students and alumni the opportunity to present two to six looks, which will then be displayed in the Showroom & Pop-Up for all to view.
The platform is an initiative from 0049x, a Berlin-based creative network founded by Sevil Uguz. The core focus of 0049x is curated formats and experiences at the intersection of fashion, art, and culture, with an emphasis on networking, consulting, strategy, and creative services. Berlin Curated is supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises (SenWEB).
